Why I offer this help for free
My day job pays the bills. Pigasus is how I share what I know with owner-run businesses in Boone and the High Country, free of charge.
I'm David Luther. I came up through startups, spent seven years at Oracle, and finished an MBA in data analytics at UNC Kenan-Flagler along the way. Today I'm an integrated marketing director at an S&P-traded fintech company, where I sit on the AI Center of Excellence. My job there is operationalizing AI inside a marketing organization and keeping the company visible in search, including the AI kind that answers questions before anyone clicks a link.
Here's what that job taught me, and it should make you feel better. Even a company that size, with the budget, the tooling, and a whole committee dedicated to AI, is still figuring this out. The tools and the money are there. The frameworks aren't. Everyone is figuring this out at the same time, which means no owner in Boone should feel singularly behind. If anything, you're on time, with less bureaucracy in your way.
Why Pigasus exists
In my day job, I work on marketing, AI, and connected data. Many of the same questions show up in a shop or practice with a dozen employees and no IT department. Which numbers matter? The tools already in place hold part of the answer. The people doing the work know the rest.
Pigasus is my way of helping local owners think through those questions. I offer practical advice and hands-on help with numbers, systems, online visibility, and continuity, all pro bono.
The part that makes this different
I have a day job, and I like it. Pigasus is not how I pay my rent.
That income gives me room to share what I know and take the time to understand a question. If a look at your business shows that most things are working well, that is a useful answer. We can talk through the findings at your pace.

Boone is where I live, volunteer, and sit in the meetings where this town makes its decisions. Nobody picked this market off a map. That matters for the work, because understanding a High Country business means understanding the place it operates in.
